Inch strand
Three miles of sandy beach, You can walk to the end and back between tides or you can drive at low tide, it’s ideal for surfing and sea angling, for bathing or soaking up the sunshine, scenes from the film 'Ryans Daughter was shot at Inch, so was the film The film 'Playboy of the Western World'

Dolphins swim and dive in the bay and Sea Otters and seals bask in the sunshine rearing their young, gannets fly like arrows into the crystal waters.
One girl I know has really lost her heart at inch and truly describes it as well as a song she composed about Inch

Summer vacations to this area of Ireland were everything I ever dreamed of. Countryside, beaches, walks, mountains, spectacular scenery, friendly locals and great music sessions in the pubs.

A truly inspirational retreat for a musician with song writing aspirations. I wrote this story-song, 'The Fisher and Me', based on the love for the sea at Inch Beach. Here is a Stewed Roots recording with photos by Chris Ferris and myself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-bjG1fs780
For each of my visits here, all of my accommodations and transport were made with help from my friend Paddy. Any time, anywhere, the airport, festivals, sightseeing, Blasket Islands, shopping, or Dingle Town, Paddy would drive. Great fun to be with, reliable and always with a joke, I could count on Paddy to make all of my visits here relaxing and full of joyful memories.

On the 11th of November 2018 will mark 100 years since the end of the 1st World War which was a little too late for my uncle Patrick O’Brien who was gassed in the trench in France and died on the 6th of November 1918, it may be all history by now but let us not forget Patrick and a whole lot of others who gave their lives at that time.
To commemorate the centenary of Patrick’s death and the end of the WW1.   I will be organizing a gathering of the O’Brien McCarthy clan, Patrick's mother was Joanne McCarthy who had three sons in the American army at the time and was named the golden mother.
Further information will be published in my website soon www.kerrytourist.net
In the meantime I will be gathering as much information as possible from people connected to Patrick and all others Irish who had any connections or relations who fought or died In WW1.
We owe it to them, let’s not forget then. If there is anybody from Kerry or any part of Ireland for that matter, whose ancestors fought in the Great War you can contribute your information to this site. Let’s get this event up and running now as there is a lot of work to be done. The event will hopefully be centered around Dingle Co Kerry
